NIA Appraisal Procedure

        - All documents relating to the works to be evaluated should be made
available to the appraiser. These would include bills of  sale, authenticity documents, exhibition and catalogue
references, biographies and copies of previous appraisals. Providing the
appraiser with complete information will result in a more detailed and
      accurate final document.

        - Certified Appraisals by NIA require photographs of each item. Our
staff will photograph each item during the examination for a minimum
charge. These photographs will become part of the final appraisal
      documentation.

        - All characteristics of the artwork are recorded during the
examination with particular emphasis on condition.

        - 5-10 minutes per work of art should be allowed for the
      examination.

        - This information is then submitted to our staff of Senior Members
who perform the research necessary to establish value conclusions. All
final documents are then reviewed by the Executive Director and his staff
      at our Los Angeles headquarters.

        - Finally, NIA will generate (2) two certified copies of the
appraisal within (2) two weeks. All future updates and new acquisitions
become a revision to the original document.

        - Due to the nature of today's market, values are fluctuating
dramatically. It is recommended that all works valued at $1,000.00 or more
be updated every (2) two years. The appraisal is an important financial
document and must be kept current.
