Herndon Fine Art offers authenticated Félix Mas fine art, including rare hand-signed limited edition serigraphs, figurative oil paintings, and hand-embellished canvas giclées.
Universally celebrated for his radiant depictions of female beauty, intricate decorative backdrops, and signature "sensual elegance," Spanish master Félix Mas (1934–2024) was an internationally revered icon of contemporary figurative art. Born in Barcelona, Mas received classical academic training at the School of Arts and Crafts and the prestigious San Jorge Academy of Fine Arts. In the early 1970s, Mas achieved international recognition as a master illustrator, contributing prominent work to American graphic publications (including Warren Publishing’s Vampirella and Creepy) before transitioning entirely to fine art painting. Relocating to Caracas, Venezuela, in 1974 and later dividing his time between Florida and Barcelona, Mas synthesized Western academic figure painting with global decorative traditions. Drawing profound inspiration from Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock prints, the rich textile fashions of India, and the classical grace of ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, his dreamlike compositions feature serene, contemplative women draped in lavishly patterned fabrics. Creating his own vibrant oil pigments from scratch, his technique pairs broad fields of luminous gold, crimson, and turquoise with intricate ornamentation, soft skin glazes, and averted gazes that create a sense of timeless mystery. Herndon Fine Art specializes in acquiring and evaluating original Félix Mas oil paintings, hand-signed limited edition serigraphs, and hand-embellished canvas prints. Every piece in our gallery inventory undergoes thorough condition inspection to verify canvas stability, pigment retention, and signature authenticity.
